Founded in 1989, St. Joseph Orthodox Christian Church in Wheaton, Illinois, is a welcoming parish of the Orthodox Church in America in the Diocese of the Midwest. Our life centers on Jesus Christ—His love, His truth, and His saving presence.
We seek to fulfill His commandment to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19). Through worship, fellowship, stewardship, and discipleship, we share the Good News that Christ has overcome sin and death, bringing healing and peace to all.
St. Joseph Orthodox Christian Church is a growing, Christ-centered family where faith is lived daily. In the beauty of the Divine Liturgy, in prayer, and through our parish ministries, we encounter the living God and support one another on the journey toward Him.

Our children stay with us during the service, and your children are also welcome.
The Divine Liturgy is the main Sunday morning service. It starts at 9:45 AM, although a reader is already chanting a preliminary service, the Hours, as the congregation enters.
For our friends and visitors who are not Orthodox, please note that the Orthodox Church has specific disciplines regarding receiving Communion. Only baptized and chrismated Orthodox Christians who have prepared themselves should approach the chalice. In general, this preparation, in consultation with one’s Father Confessor, would include fasting from food and drink since the night before and going to Confession periodically.
